This is part [part not set] in our series Embracing Video For Business

There are numerous types of videos that you can create once you make videos. Your best action is to make several types to keep your viewers interested. Plus, different formats and types fit different genres and information better than others.

  • Screen Share – You don’t even have to appear in your videos if you don’t want to. You can share your screen and show someone how to do something every day by doing it and then adding your voice.

  • Talking Head – This type of video can appear in many forms – some might call it a vlog. But you can also do a screen recording and include your talking head on the screen. This can add a lot more interest to the screen share.

  • Interview Style – An effective video is a split-screen interview where the person talking appears on camera one person at a time. Interviews are a great way to create video content because they are simple, fun, and informative.

  • Live Videos – Due to the lack of editing, creating live videos is an effective and fast way to create video content that you can use repeatedly. Some of the best live video ideas are Q & As, where the audience asks questions either submitted in advance or asked during the live event.

  • How to Videos – Doing something is a time-tested way to create videos. They are effective, solve problems, and serve your audience in a valuable way. Teach them to do something simply by showing examples and results.

  • Vlog – This is a great way to produce video content. You look at the camera and talk about what’s happening, leading them through your day. You can do a “day in the life” of your activities, running your business, running your life, your household, or going on a trip. If it relates to your business, it’ll work.

  • Webinar – While you might not think of a webinar as a video, the same as other videos, it is a video. You can publish it as it is, cut it up and print different parts, transcribe, and repurpose it.

  • Event – If you go to or host an event, it’s a great time to make a video. You can use a combination of different types of videos for every occasion. You can vlog about the event as an attendee. You can record speakers if you’re the host, your talk if you’re speaking, and so much more.

  • Presentation – Anytime you give a presentation, you can record it. Whether the production is live, or you want to record yourself giving it alone, you can do it by recording your screen or doing it in front of a green screen.

  • Product Reviews – Anytime you want to review a product or service, doing it by video is a wonderful way to create a good video. Add it to a blog post with a link to the product you’re reviewing, and you may also make some money.

  • Case Study – This is an excellent use of video. To create a highly functional case study, you can combine an interview of the subject or subjects and add your thoughts, statistics, and other information.

  • Tutorial – YouTube is full of tutorial videos. Showing people how to put on makeup, cut their hair, cook the perfect fried chicken, and use a tool right are awesome ways to use the tutorial-style video.

  • Testimonial – You can also do video testimonials for a product, service, event, business, or person. But you can even ask your audience to do the same for you and publish those as a video on your site and other platforms.

  • Explainer (Animation) – An animated explainer video is a fun type to create. This is very helpful in conveying a boring point or a bunch of facts creatively and entertainingly. You can get the software to make explainer videos online. There are many. One good one is called Biteable.com.

If you’re shy about being on camera, the best type of video to start with is screen share videos. Then, try your hand at some explainer videos and maybe an interview video. Finally, give a talking head or vlog a try. The more you do it, the more you’ll start liking it, especially when you get results.
