A $33-million condo development, Jack Pine Lodge, has been launched in Canmore’s premier neighbourhood, Spring Creek.
The project will include 49 condo units.
“Jack Pine Lodge is the next step in our master plan for Spring Creek. The demand for property in Canmore is continuing to grow due to the ideal location close to Main Street and all the amenities of this great town,” says Frank Kernick, president of Spring Creek.
Spring Creek is a 70-acre development, made up of five condominium lodges, a senior residence, two creekside villas and eight single-family estates – which are all over 80 per cent sold. It is also home to Canmore’s first four-star luxury hotel, the Malcolm Hotel.
Ross Jansen, sales manager/broker for Spring Creek, says units in Jack Pine Lodge range from 750 square feet to 1,797 square feet and prices range from $479,000 to $1.15 million.
The development is close to being submitted for a development permit and the project will take about two years to build upon approval.
“It’s a very unique location. I would say arguably the best location for a condo building or certainly one of the top few locations to build a building. It’s right on what will be our future plaza,” said Jansen. “The building location provides us with three sides with outstanding views – unobstructed views. That’s something that’s hard to achieve.
“Because of that unique location, we really felt that this would have an appeal to locals.”
Jack Pine Lodge is located at the western edge of the neighbourhood, next to White Spruce Lodge, and has some of the best views within the Spring Creek community – including the signature Canmore views of the Three Sisters Peaks.
The new condo project is named after the developer’s father, Jack Kernick, who built the Restwell Trailer Park on the Spring Creek lands with his brother Don Kernick.
Jack Pine Lodge will have a garden hot tub, exercise room, underground heated parking, and geothermal heating and cooling.
Jack Pine Lodge will also provide future residents with more open, green living space than ever before. The aim is to design the ideal mountain condominium home for local families and couples looking to move into the coveted Spring Creek neighbourhood.
Jack Pine Lodge is the neighbourhood’s sixth new multimillion-dollar residence and fourth residential project in two years.
“Canmore has consistently shown a resiliency in the face of a slower market in Alberta,” says Jansen. “We’ve had a substantial increase in home sales and a significant increase in property value.”
According to the Q3 Market News Report from Sotheby’s International Realty, which tracks sales statistics for the Canmore region, the real estate market continues to flourish with a 10 per cent year-over-year sales growth for the third quarter.
The mountain resort of Canmore is a popular place for homebuyers.
The town is rated the second best place to live in Alberta, according to Money Sense’s ‘Best Places to Live 2018’ report and seventh overall across Canada.
