Residential real estate developer Qualico Communities is planning an open house sales event in Chestermere for its Dawson’s Landing development.

The developer broke ground in August 2018. It will feature commercial use, two school sites, and an ecopark on 108 hectares west of Chestermere, immediately west of Rainbow Road along Chestermere Boulevard (17th Avenue).

Qualico hopes to build the project in six phases. The first will have 229 homes and the second will have 85 homes. The completed project will have about 1,305 homes.

The sales event, Jan. 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Lakeside Golf Club, 555 Lakeside Greens Drive, Chestermere.

“We wanted to host this event in advance of the opening of the showhomes because we know there is a lot of interest in the community. This event will give prospective residents the chance to find out about the builders, home models, and get a better sense of the vision of the community,” said Laura Field, Marketing Coordinator with Qualico Communities Calgary.

She said the showhomes are well-underway, with a grand opening event planned for late spring 2020. Award-winning builders include Morrison Homes who will build laned duplexes from the low $300,000s, Trico Homes who is building laned homes from the mid $300,000s, bungalow homes will start from $470,000s from Sterling Homes, NuVista Homes, and Broadview Homes, and front garage homes will start from the $490,000s from Sterling Homes, NuVista Homes, and Broadview Homes.

“There have already been sales in Dawson’s Landing, and we are seeing that people want to pick their lots, and get building,” said Field.

“We are hoping to be able to announce some of the retail and professional services in the next couple months.”
