Mario Toneguzzi is a Troy Media reporter based in CalgaryTwo Northern Alberta business owners have launched a campaign to “give away” a 9,000-square-foot commercial building on 1.5 acres right in the heart of Alberta’s Lakeland Region.

Glendon business owners Julie and Shane Kissell are inviting Canadians to dream big by submitting their big business idea along with a $250 application fee for a shot at winning the property for $1.

“We launched AgZone 11 years ago and since then, we’ve experienced so much growth, we’ve outgrown our building,” said Julie Kissel, AgZone co-owner, in a statement.

“This opportunity is our way of paying the dream forward because we couldn’t have achieved our success without the support of our incredible community. The Village of Glendon can’t wait to receive and support Canada’s next big dreamer.

“We want people to dream big and imagine the possibilities that come with zero mortgage payments on a half-million-dollar building. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”

People can enter the competition until Dec. 31 at dreambigcanada.ca and then a panel of judges will select 25 finalists before narrowing it down to the top five. Dream Big Canada will reveal live on Facebook the successful candidate.

Here’s a video of Julie Kissel talking about and showing the property.

The property is located at 5310 Pyrogy Dr N, Glendon, AB T0A 1P0. It has 7,000 square feet of main floor space and 2,000 square feet of unfinished second floor area.

It was built in 1984.

Glendon is 214 km northeast of Edmonton.
