Press Release

CALGARY – Local marketing and communications firm Anstice is pleased to announce it has hired former TELUS executive Andrea Goertz, to be its new chief operating officer.

Goertz was most recently chief communications and sustainability officer at TELUS, where she spear-headed the popular TELUS Talks, and led the design and construction of signature LEED buildings, including Vancouver’s TELUS Garden, Calgary’s TELUS Sky and the award-winning TELUS House Toronto.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Andrea to our team,” said Sheenah Rogers-Pfeiffer, founder and chief strategist of Anstice. “She is a star performer. Her values, authenticity, grit and professional standards make her a valued asset to us and our clients.”

Goertz’s hiring also marks a bit of good news for a small but growing Calgary business.

“It’s not all doom and gloom,” says Rogers-Pfeiffer. “Boutique agencies such as ours have major appeal in dark times like
this due to our agility and expert-to-expert model, thus we are aggressive in our growth plans. We hope to emerge stronger, smarter and prepared to help the world adapt to our new reality. Andrea helps position us for that future.”

Goertz, twice voted one of Canada’s 100 most powerful women by the Women’s Executive Network, has more than two decades of experience in finance, business development, communications and corporate strategy.

A visionary leader, she created and launched Work Styles back in 2006 – an innovative program enabling TELUS employees to work where and when it is most convenient and productive for them. Goertz’s leadership in this regard was a key factor in TELUS becoming one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

“As we collectively navigate through our future, increasingly placing priority on meaningful interactions and engagement with brands whose values mirror our own, I am proud to lead at Anstice and partner with organizations to make a positive impact in our lives and in our communities,” said Goertz. “For me, one of the most important aspects of meaningful brand engagement is trust, which permeates every aspect of our lives and our interactions.”

Goertz’s earned a coveted position as the 2012 and 2014 WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top
100 Awards. She was also named a Canada Clean 50 Winner in 2013.
