Bankruptcies are on the rise in Calgary and across Alberta, and there widespread concern over the long-term impacts. 

The number of Alberta business bankruptcies in October 2019 increased by 15.4 per cent from the same period a year ago, from 13 to 15. Consumer bankruptcies in Alberta increased by 8.7 per cent, from 447 in October 2018, to 486 in October 2019.
